Reaching a broad and varied audience
ECL Group is a leading technical services company who specialise in everything from fuel systems and electronic security to compliance services and site care. Operating throughout New Zealand and Australia, their 550 employees are responsible for maintaining the systems and services that keep other businesses running.
Because ECL do so many different things, communicating their business offering can be a challenge. Having recently launched two new business units their website needed an overhaul to ensure it clearly communicated their various services to the large, multi-national, blue-chip clients they work alongside.
We began with a UX (user experience) review of the existing site to identify the usability challenges, content clarity and areas where design improvements could be made. Data collated on website activity, business drivers and keyword research informed the new site map. From this we made recommendations around user journey pathways, content structure and user interface design.
With the significance of the restructure required to meet the new business needs and resolve the challenges identified in the review, the ECL website was rebuilt with a completely new design and structure. The site was built on the SilverStripe CMS, a platform which makes the ongoing management and maintenance of the site significantly easier.
The new site clearly articulates the key commercial offerings, and provides clear pathways to information on each business unit. Strong landing pages highlight key information on each unit and introduce areas where further details can be accessed. Visually the new site is slick and professional, with a strong, modern aesthetic.
